The basis of nutritional therapy is an ovo-lacto-vegetabile diet - ie. Vegetable foods are preferable to the animal: cereals, beans, vegetables, nuts and fruits.
Important is the adequate supply of liquid and the consumption of calcium-rich foods.
Phosphate, purine or oxalic acid foods should be avoided according to kidney stone type.
Drinks recommended: clear water, fruit and herbal teas, diluted fruit juices, mineral water with high magnesium content and little sodium.
Large amounts of protein and fat (especially animal fat), spinach, rhubarb, offal, processed cheese, cola, peanuts, cocoa and chocolate as well as black and green tea. Bean coffee and alcohol.
